Once Small, Chanyeol EXO Confesses Being Teased by Classmates

Kapanlagi.com - Chanyeol, who is now one of the top K-Pop idols, apparently went through difficult times while in school. Not many know that the leader of EXO-SC was often the subject of teasing by his classmates.

This fact was revealed when Chanyeol and Sehun promoted their latest comeback 1 Billion Views on MBC FM4U Morning FM with Jang Sunggyu on Wednesday (22/7/2020). It turns out that Chanyeol's unpleasant school experiences inspired one of the songs on their album, Fly Away, which also features Gaeko.

Chanyeol is known as one of the most prominent members of EXO. Who would have thought that this idol, born on November 27, 1992, had a small stature when he was in junior high school.

"Even though I'm 185cm now, I used to be short compared to my friends when I was in junior high school," Chanyeol said, as quoted by Kstarlive.

"That's why every morning my mother fed me a lot and I jumped rope diligently. Suddenly, I grew much taller when I was in the 3rd grade of junior high school," he added.

2. Motivational Song

Chanyeol added that his friends' treatment had made him lack confidence. However, in the end, he managed to prove his success by growing taller and becoming as successful as he is now.

"I was often teased because of my small stature. That's why I developed a habit of bowing," he said.

Just like his personal experience, Chanyeol explained that Fly Away is a song that motivates others to be more confident.

"The message of this song is 'spread your wings'," Chanyeol concluded.

3. Will Perform at Dream Concert 2020

Meanwhile, EXO-SC will perform at Dream Concert 2020 on July 25. This virtual concert, which utilizes special technologies such as VR, EX-3D sound, and multi-cam, will be held on July 25 and 26 at 9 PM local time. It will be broadcasted on The K-POP YouTube channel, and fans who want to watch their favorite idols' performances will have to pay 5,500 won (approximately Rp 67,000).

The first day of the concert will be hosted by Leeteuk Super Junior, Kim Yo Han, and Kim Doyeon Weki Meki, while the second day will feature Eunhyuk Super Junior, Cha Eun Woo ASTRO, and Lia ITZY. Other artists performing on the first day include Red Velvet, Red Velvet Irene & Seulgi, Oh My Girl, ASTRO, Golden Child, South Club, Kim Jae Hwan, AB6IX, CRAVITY, and CIX. On the second day, MAMAMOO, Lovelyz, WJSN, Ha Sung Woon, Weki Meki, Jeong Sewoon, The Boyz, Stray Kids, ITZY, Rocket Punch, and ONEUS will perform.
