'ONE PIECE FILM: RED' Officially Announced, Shanks Could Be the Main Character

Kapanlagi.com - After previously celebrating episode 1000, this time Toei Animation announced ONE PIECE FILM: RED which will be released on August 6, 2022 in Japan. The 15th film of ONE PIECE was first announced on November 21, 2021.

The director of this film will be Goro Taniguchi who previously succeeded with CODE GEASS. In addition, Tsutomu Kuroiwa, who wrote the screenplay for 2 previous ONE PIECE films, will reprise his role in this film, while Eiichiro Oda will be the executive producer.

One of the most interesting things that caught the attention of fans is the many clues that point to the red-haired Shanks, from the title, the color, to the identical 3 claw marks that are associated with red-haired Shanks.

Si rambut merah Shanks is the captain of the Red Hair Pirates and one of the Four Emperors of the New World, a title given to the four strongest pirate captains residing in the second half of the Grand Line.

Shanks is famous for being the person who inspired Monkey D. Luffy to become a pirate and search for the treasure known as One Piece. The story of this pirate captain who also gave Luffy his iconic straw hat is highly anticipated by fans due to his power and untold past.

2. New Character

In addition to Shanks, there is also a female character shown in the teaser for ONE PIECE FILM: RED. This female character appears to be a resident of Sky Island or the Sky Island. As reported by Anime News Network, the tagline of this film is "Singing Voice, Red Hair".

Although the identity of this character and the main story of ONE PIECE FILM: RED are still unknown, at least you can get an idea from the brief narration.

In his social media message, Eiichiro Oda said that he is tired of drawing old people, so he wants to draw female characters. He also mentioned that this film will provide many surprises. So for those who can't wait to watch ONE PIECE FILM: RED, it seems they have to be patient because the film will be released in 9 months.
