'PARASITE' Wins 2 Awards at BAFTA 2020, the Only Film Without English Language

Kapanlagi.com - Recently, PARASITE was reported to win again at BAFTA. The BAFTA Film Awards (British Academy of Film and Television Arts), held annually, took place at the Royal Albert Hall in London (2/02/2020).

The director of PARASITE, Bong Joon Ho, along with Song Kang Ho, also attended the event. After consecutive wins before, it turns out that this time they also brought home awards.

 

1. Win Two Awards

PARASITE won the BAFTA for Best Film as the only winner without using English. They also received an award for Best Original Screenplay, written by director Bong Joon Ho and Han Jin Won.

PARASITE is a dark comedy film released in 2019. This film tells the story of the social gap between the wealthy and the less fortunate. The interesting thing about this film is its unpredictable and difficult-to-guess storyline.

2. The Only Non-English Film

Receiving the Best Original Screenplay award, Bong Joon Ho said, "Although PARASITE was written in Korean, I did not expect to receive this award. Thank you for giving PARASITE so much love."

With humility, he continued, "I spent a lot of time writing this idea in a cafe. I never even imagined that I would stand here."
