The Department of Livestock Development in Thailand is investigating allegations of animal cruelty in the production of the period drama "The Empress of Ayodhaya".

In episode five, a black cat named Samli is seen being forced to drink a solution, then convulses before "dying."

This scene raises public concern about the welfare of the cat, with many people suspecting cruel treatment of the animal. They believe that with today's advanced CGI technology, why choose this method.

The broadcasting channel One31 issued a statement that the cat was anesthetized under the supervision of experts from an animal modeling agency with 10 years of experience.
