The two members are Kookheon and Yuvin, who are former members of the disbanded boy group MYTEEN on August 21, 2019. They are also known to the public as participants of the survival show PRODUCE X 101. This duo first released a single titled Blurry on August 24, 2019, but at that time they did not have an official group name.

The name B.O.Y itself was suggested by fans through the official Fancafe and was chosen by the members after receiving more than 2000 votes. Then they officially debuted as a duo with the name B.O.Y on January 7, 2020, through their first mini album titled PHASE ONE: YOU and its title track Angel.

The first profile is from Kookheon. The idol, whose real name is Kim Guk Heon, was born on April 15, 1997 in Bundang, South Korea. His position in the group is vocalist and dancer. In the survival show PRODUCE X 101, he was eliminated in episode 11 and ranked 12th. He had previously participated in the survival show MIXNINE and ranked 18th.

He also participated in the survival show PRODUCE X 101 and made it to the final round, unfortunately, he couldn't debut because he was in 16th place.

Former main vocalist of MYTEEN has filled several drama OSTs, one of them is in the drama WHAT'S WRONG WITH SECRETARY KIM? with the song The first Words. He also made a cameo appearance in the drama AGE OF YOUTH and played the lead role in the drama remake LOSS:TIME:LIFE in 2019. Yuvin started his career as a solo singer on May 30, 2016 by releasing a single titled It's You To The Bone. This blood type A owner has special skills in speaking Japanese and Chinese.
