Proven to Defame the Good Name of Jungkook and V BTS, YouTuber Taldeok Camp Fined Heavily

The Seoul Western District Court ordered the channel's owner, Park (37), to pay damages of 76 million KRW, equivalent to about 861.78 million rupiah. This fine is a result of defamation against two members of BTS, V and Jungkook, which has harmed their reputation.

This decision was made after Big Hit Music, the agency representing BTS, sued Taldeok Camp over several videos deemed to contain defamatory content. Additionally, they accused Sojang of using images and content featuring V and Jungkook without permission. Through this legal action, Big Hit Music demonstrates its commitment to protecting their artists from defamation.

1. Separate Fines for V and Jungkook

In the ruling, the fines were divided into several parts. Park is required to pay 51 million KRW to Big Hit Music, 10 million KRW to V, and 15 million KRW to Jungkook. This shows that the court is serious about handling defamation cases involving public figures.

The previous hearing in August 2024 also revealed that Big Hit Music is seeking 90 million won in damages for defamation and the spread of false information. The Taldeok Camp denied the allegations, stating that the content posted was an opinion and not false facts. However, the court still decided to award damages to the aggrieved party.

2. This Case Is Not the First

This is not the first time Sojang has been embroiled in legal issues. Previously, they were also sued by other artists such as Wonyoung from IVE and Kang Daniel, and have been given probation and fines for those cases. This indicates that Sojang has a long history of facing legal claims related to defamation.

Not only that, Sojang is also facing separate criminal and civil lawsuits from Big Hit Music. V himself has openly expressed his disappointment with the content created by Sojang on the Weverse platform, and emphasized that he will take legal action if necessary.
