Rating 'THE WORLD OF THE MARRIED' Continues to Soar While 'THE KING: ETERNAL MONARCH' Experienced a Decrease

On Friday (24/4), the drama THE WORLD OF THE MARRIED once again achieved the highest viewer rating during its airing. According to data from Nielsen Korea, the episode of THE WORLD OF THE MARRIED that aired last Friday recorded an average national rating of 20.5%. This number sets a record for the drama starring Kim Hee Ae.

The only JTBC drama that has achieved a higher rating than THE WORLD OF THE MARRIED throughout the history of this channel is SKY CASTLE. This hit drama managed to hold the record for the highest viewer rating not only on JTBC, but also on all cable TV channels in Korea.

SKY CASTLE recorded an average national viewer rating of 23.78% in its last airing in 2019. As reported by Soompi on Saturday (25/4), Korean drama viewers are curious whether THE WORLD OF THE MARRIED will surpass the rating of the drama starring Kim Seo Hyung and Yum Jung Ah.

2. Rating THE KING: ETERNAL MONARCH

Meanwhile, the new drama THE KING: ETERNAL MONARCH airing on SBS experienced a slight decrease in ratings. If the first two episodes of this drama starring Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun managed to reach double digits, the airing of the third episode stalled below 10%.

On Friday (24/4), the drama THE KING: ETERNAL MONARCH achieved an average national audience rating of 7.8% in the first part and 9.0% in the second part. The highest rating for this drama is still held by its second episode, which recorded 11.6% nationally and 12.9% in the Seoul metropolitan area.
