Remastering Project of SM Entertainment's Old MV, aespa Members are Invited to Imagine Junior Covering Their Songs 20 Years in the Future

Kapanlagi.com - 'Remastering Project' with SM and YouTube is a project to remaster music videos from the 90s and 2000s, presented to global music fans through YouTube. This project was formed with the aim of introducing the growth of the Korean music industry. SM and YouTube plan to release YouTube content in December, by reproducing a famous song by S.E.S. produced by SM. In addition, these two companies also plan to announce newly remastered music videos through collaborations with various YouTube content creators.

Lee Sung Soo, CEO of SM Entertainment, said, "Music videos are valuable assets of SM that contain everything SM seeks and desires, and comprehensive content that can be said to be the history of K-Pop is the unchanged heritage of SM over time. Through this remastering project, we plan to present more than 300 remastered music videos and sound sources, and through various campaigns including original YouTube content, we will introduce the history and evolution of K-pop to global music fans to continuously expand the K-pop base."

A press conference held by SM and YouTube on November 4, 2021, online through live streaming on YouTube. In addition to CEO of SM Entertainment Lee Seong Soo and YouTube's Executive Vice President of Music Partnerships Lee Sun Jung, this event was also attended by the currently booming SM Entertainment stars, Karina aespa and Giselle aespa. In the question session, these two aespa members were asked, "How would you feel if 20 years later, a future generation group under SM Entertainment covers/remasters AESPA's song?". Both of them were confused by the question that they had never thought of before.

Karina aespa answered, "Honestly, I can't imagine it yet. This remastering project is a great opportunity for us to showcase new S.E.S. music. We respect them so much that we are all very nervous and excited to work on this project. If a future generation group covers our songs 20 years later, I think they will look adorable, especially in our eyes. I would be very proud and will support them from the bottom of my heart."

2. Giselle aespa's Answer about aespa's Song Remaster in 20 Years

Along with Karina aespa, Giselle aespa also answered, "I feel the same way, I can't imagine it right now because it's only been about a year since our debut and we're still new. But, 20 years later, if future generation groups make a cover/reinterpretation of our songs, I think I would really enjoy watching it and I would want to meet and talk to them. I would be proud more than anything."

This idea holds important value for the history of Korean music. Therefore, as K-Pop enthusiasts, we must support this movement so that the traces of Korean music from the 90s and 2000s do not disappear.
