Jo Yuri firmly denied rumors stating that she received a payment of 4.2 billion Won (around Rp 46.39 billion) for her role in 'SQUID GAME Season 2'. In an interview on January 9, 2024, at a café in Jongno-gu, Seoul, Jo Yuri discussed the speculation and provided clarification.

Jo Yuri emphasized that even though she cannot disclose the exact amount, the figure of 4.2 billion Won is completely wrong.
She also shared her experience of joining a major project like 'SQUID GAME Season 2', which involved a long and competitive audition process.
Jo Yuri went through four stages of auditions, including video submissions and sessions with the assistant director and the main director, which took more than three months.
This challenge felt even heavier as she was facing a difficult phase in her life at that time.
"The last audition I went through was for SQUID GAME, and I felt very determined to succeed," she revealed.
Aside from the public attention on the payment rumor, Jo Yuri prefers to focus on her role in this record-breaking Netflix series.
The 'SQUID GAME Season 2' series itself has recorded 58.2 million viewing hours between December 30 and January 5, showing global enthusiasm for the second season.
