In the drama, Yoon Se Ri is portrayed as a conglomerate's daughter who is forced to land and stay in North Korea.

"Yoon Se Ri is a charismatic character with classic charm, like a CEO. I wanted to show that. When she is in North Korea, she's not a North Korean, she's only there because of an accident so she can't wear makeup in that situation. That's why I didn't apply a lot of makeup and her face looks naturally perfect," said Mu Jin.

Hair stylist Gu Mi Jeong added, "In Seoul, Yoon Se Ri's hair is more stylish. Because she is a third-generation conglomerate, she might style her hair in the Cheongdam area, so it's depicted as having expensive curly hair. In North Korea, her hair is naturally curly. There is a dialogue in the script that mentions 'messy hair'. So when reading the script, I thought I should give her a natural look," she said.

Mu Jin then explained what makeup he applied to Son Ye Jin. He said he used two types of liquid-based makeup with different colors or tones to create a gradation on the face. He also praised Son Ye Jin's great skin texture, so she doesn't need to use a lot of foundation.

Not only that, Mu Jin said that when Yoon Se Ri's character was in North Korea, Son Ye Jin didn't wear any makeup, mascara, or curl her eyelashes at all. That's why Mu Jin only applied lip balm on Son Ye Jin's lips.

"Son Ye Jin is an actress who highly values reality (in dramas). I was very surprised at first when she didn't style her hair for outdoor shooting. If there's a scene where she washes her face, before sleeping, or wakes up, she definitely doesn't style her hair. She only does her face, and even then, she hardly uses any (makeup)," Mu Jin said.
