Sung Joon takes on the role of the antagonist Goon Tak, a character who is half-human and half-demon, and will be the opponent of Van, played by Kim Nam Gil.
Apparently, behind Sung Joon's participation in this drama ISLAND, there is a unique story. Kim Nam Gil can be said to have persuaded Sung Joon to join because he felt that his friend would be a perfect fit for the character Goon Tak.
Kim Nam Gil's estimation is absolutely correct. Not only did he successfully portray Goon Tak well, but Sung Joon also made serious efforts to visually transform himself into a half-demon.
One of the sacrifices he had to make was having silver hair for seven months. In order to achieve the desired color, he was willing to bleach his hair multiple times, even to the roots.
