Taeyeon Girls Generation Talks About Writing the Lyrics for 'Can't Control Myself', Feels Heartbroken

Kapanlagi.com - Taeyeon Girls Generation officially makes a solo comeback with her third full album INVU, on Monday (14/2). The idol also talks about the songs in her latest album, including the pre-single Can't Control Myself, which received an amazing response upon its release.

Leader of Girls Generation also participated in writing the lyrics for the song, which was released prior to the album. Taeyeon shares the process of writing the lyrics.

Taeyeon also revealed how she felt the first time she heard the song Can't Control Myself. She couldn't deny imagining someone who feels the pain of love.

"When I listened to Can't Control Myself for the first time, I thought about all these stories based on the emotions I felt at that time. Elements of the song like the source and the vocals helped me imagine the story. When I heard Can't Control Myself, I thought of someone whose heart was torn apart because of love," Taeyeon shared during the press conference session held before the release of the album INVU on Monday (14/2/2022).

2. Participating in Writing the Lyrics 'Can't Control Myself'

Because she imagined how painful someone's feelings could be because of their love, Taeyeon found inspiration for a story. This story is what Taeyeon then poured into the lyrics of Can't Control Myself.

"From this concept, I imagined more images in my mind and developed a story that led me to participate in writing the lyrics," she explained.

While working on the MV Can't Control Myself, Taeyeon also revealed how she tried to get into the character of someone who feels pain due to love wounds. The proof is, Taeyeon successfully made you fall in love through her MV, right?

"While working on the MV, it is important for me to bring my imagination to life in my head so that I can eventually act in the MV. I actually feel the pain when expressing the emotions of the main character. I use blood makeup and try to immerse myself in the character to convey every little detail of the pain, including wounds caused by sharp thorns. I put myself in the character's position and maintain focus during the video production," Taeyeon said.

4. Topping the Charts in South Korea and iTunes

The latest song from TAEYEON 'Can't Control Myself' which was just released on January 17, 2022, has topped the Genie and Bugs music charts shortly after its release.

Not only that, the song has also reached the top of the 'Top Song' iTunes chart in 14 countries, including Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan, Cambodia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Peru, Macau, Malta, and Bahrain. The music video for 'Can't Control Myself' has also reached the top of the 'MV Chart' in the South Korea category on QQ Music.

Meanwhile, TAEYEON will release her 3rd full-length album in February 2022.

5. TAEYEON's Music Video 'Can't Control Myself' Appears as an Advertisement in Cinemas

The 3rd full-length album TAEYEON Can't Control Myself will be released on January 17, 2022, at 16:00 WIB through various music sites. The music video for the song will also be released simultaneously.

A 30-second snippet of the music video for Can't Control Myself will be shown as an advertisement in 87 Megabox branches in South Korea for 1 month, starting from January 18, 2022.
