Their engagement took place privately on January 15, 2025, in Thanh Hoa, attended by family and close friends with tight security.
Nguyen Phuong Nhi comes from a simple family. She claims that her parents run a small business and always encourage her to focus on education.
Nhi is the youngest child of two siblings and is known to be close to her family. She has participated in various beauty contests, including Miss International 2023.
Despite the rainy weather on the morning of the engagement, the event went smoothly. Hoang wore traditional clothing and brought traditional gifts, while Nhi looked elegant in a cream white ao dai.
"The family also held a dowry ritual this morning followed by traditional customs because that day was considered a good day and the couple's age was very suitable," said a source quoted by Ngoi Sao.
Although absent from the public spotlight for the past year to focus on her studies at Hanoi Law University, Nhi has now returned to public attention following her engagement.
