Working on the 'PEACHES' Album and Preparing for First Solo Concert at the Same Time, Kai EXO is also Searching for Self-Identity

Kapanlagi.com - Kai is greeting fans again with his latest album PEACHES, which was released today on Tuesday (30/11/2021). Prior to its release, EXO member held a press conference concert on the same day to discuss everything about the PEACHES album.

Guided by EXO's maknae, Sehun, Kai answered a series of questions regarding his comeback this time. Apparently, there were many challenges that Kai had to face in preparing his album.

"What was the most difficult challenge in working on this album and how did you overcome it?" Sehun asked.

"Actually, I didn't have much time because my schedule was packed. I didn't have time to do what I wanted. That's why I had to compromise and let go of some things to fit my schedule. I tried to balance what I wanted and what I could do," Kai answered.

1. Pressure Due to the Success of the First Album

Considering the success of his first solo album, it turns out Kai feels more challenged when preparing for his comeback with PEACHES. As known, KAI's album sold more than 250,000 copies in the first week of its release and became the third highest first-week sales for a solo debut album by an SM Entertainment idol.

Kai is also in the process of finding his true identity through his works, showcasing a different side of himself that has never been seen by the public before.

"First of all, the pressure is real. But more than just the outcome, I want to win the battle with myself. I do push myself. I want to show many different sides of myself. I want to show the new Kai, the different Kai. I want to show the results. I am still searching for my identity, my identity as a human and an artist. There are many things I want to show. That's what I'm looking for myself," he said.

2. Thinking about the Album Concept in Detail

The PEACHES album is proof that Kai is an all-around talented idol. Not only does he showcase his songs and choreography, but it's also revealed that Kai is involved in thinking about the concept of the PEACHES album.

"When I heard the title, I thought about the concept and how to express the songs. I imagined the setting with gods, temples, and everything when I heard this song. Peaches are also sweet, so I wanted to show the sweet and romantic side. I told the team about my imagination of gods, temples, and sweetness. I thought about all the details and carefully gave every idea, learning a lot from the making of this album," said the idol born on January 14, 1994.

3. First Solo Concert

Another challenge that Kai faced while preparing for the album was the preparation for his first solo concert. How could he not, for the first time, Kai will dominate his own concert without being accompanied by other EXO members.

"This is not a face-to-face concert, so I thought about how to communicate with fans as if we were meeting in person. I made it like a movie so that they feel like they are with me. Preparing for a concert alone turned out to be difficult without the EXO members. In the past, I shared a lot with the members, but now I'm only showcasing myself. I just want to show who I really am. I want this concert to be a way to show who I am," he concluded.
