The legendary Indonesian rock music group, God Bless, will soon hold the peak moment of the golden age celebration of their work in the Indonesian music industry.
Titled Indofood presents God Bless 50th Anniversary Golden Concert with Tohpati Orchestra, this concert will be held in the near future at Istora Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Friday, November 10, 2023. Here are the details.
This concert is believed to satisfy the thirst of Indonesian rock music enthusiasts, especially fans of God Bless from different generations. In this concert, the strong rock music characteristic of God Bless will harmonize with the grandeur of the orchestra led by the seasoned musician Tohpati.
The musicality of this concert is even more promising with the presence of top musicians from Indonesia. A star-studded event, several seasoned musicians have been confirmed to perform, including Padi Reborn as the opening act and a series of high-class collaborators such as rock diva Anggun and Nicky Astria, Kaka Slank, Kotak Band, and guitarist Eet Sjahranie.
In a press conference held on Wednesday (25/10), the band, consisting of Achmad Albar (vocals), Ian Antono (guitar), Donny Fattah (bass), Abadi Soesman (keyboard), and Fajar Satritama (drums), expressed their excitement and enthusiasm to deliver their best performance at the peak of their 50-year music career.
"Leading up to this concert, we feel the same adrenaline rush we felt 50 years ago, when God Bless performed for the first time at Taman Ismail Marzuki on May 5, 1973. Now, coinciding with Heroes' Day on November 10, 2023, we want to make this 50-year milestone of God Bless a special tribute to all rock music lovers in the country," said Iyek, the nickname of Achmad Albar.
Similarly, Ian Antono feels the high euphoria due to the support of a series of top Indonesian musicians and rockers who will collaborate in the 50th Anniversary Gold Bless Concert.
He admitted that God Bless has undergone many preparations and concept developments to maximize their actions with the collaborators and the accompaniment of Tohpati's orchestra.
"Musically, we hope this concert can become an anthology as well as reflect God Bless' journey for 50 years in the Indonesian music industry. Therefore, with the support of Tohpati's orchestra and these great musician friends, we feel confident to perform at our best in the concert," Ian Antono added.
"We believe that this 50th Anniversary Gold Bless Concert will be a calling for all rock music lovers in Indonesia. As musicians, the 50-year musical journey that God Bless has carved is not something easily followed by other musicians. Therefore, this concert can be said to be a legacy for the Indonesian music world, especially rock music," said Drinna Munardy, Project Head of Northstar Entertainment.
