Musician Ady, known as the former vocalist of Naff, is once again enlivening the music industry in the homeland by releasing his latest single titled Merbabu. The song was officially launched on April 24, 2026, and continues his musical journey themed around mountains, which he previously started with the work Rinjani.

In this latest work, Ady presents a deeper approach by highlighting the beauty of Indonesia's nature, particularly Mount Merbabu. He attempts to blend emotional experiences into a composition that is not only beautiful to listen to but also carries a strong meaning.

Merbabu was written by Dwi Januanto Nugroho, a figure known as a poet as well as the Director General of Law Enforcement in Forestry at the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia. The lyrics are composed poetically, depicting the closeness between humans and nature in an intimate and touching way."I embrace your beauty Merbabu, your warm embrace Merbabu, you enchant me Merbabu, until I melt."

Musically, this former Naff member presents a grand arrangement wrapped in a vast ambience. The listeners are invited to feel as if they are in the midst of a silent yet majestic mountain, creating an immersive and full-of-feeling listening experience.

The creative process of this song is also not simple. Ady spent a considerable amount of time finding the best form of "Merbabu", including structuring the song to convey emotions fully.In the process, this song underwent four rearrangement revisions. This was done because each previous version was felt to not yet provide the depth of feeling desired by Ady as the singer and interpreter of the work.

Armed with firsthand experience in the mountainous nature, this former Naff member presents a more honest and vibrant vocal interpretation. This experience becomes an important element that strengthens the overall character of the song.

Interestingly, the release of Merbabu was delayed because Ady was considering the natural disaster situation occurring in Aceh. He chose to postpone as a form of empathy, feeling it was inappropriate to release a song about the beauty of nature amidst such conditions.

Furthermore, this song is part of an ambitious project that Ady is preparing with Dwi Januanto Nugroho. They are designing seven songs inspired by seven mountains in Indonesia as a tribute to the natural wealth of the archipelago.

This single release is also accompanied by a music video that airs on the ADYCTIVITY YouTube channel. The filming took place directly on Mount Merbabu, presenting authentic visuals, despite facing unpredictable weather challenges, and featuring Jodilee Warwick as the main female character.
