Ahmad Dhani Appointed as the Board of Trustees of AKSI, Fariz RM Speaks Out

Fariz RM, a musician known for the song Sakura, has firmly denied his position as a member of the AKSI Board of Trustees. He clarified that he has never officially stated his willingness to hold that position, and this clarification was made after consulting with his attorney, Deolipa Yumara.

"I want to clarify and firmly state that I have only received the offer and the mandate, but I have not expressed my willingness to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees of the organization as expected," he said when contacted by the media via telephone on Friday (06/03/2026).

As background, the announcement regarding the new management structure of AKSI was made by Ahmad Dhani on Wednesday (04/03/2026). Dhani confidently stated that Fariz RM and Indra Lesmana have agreed to join. This certainly draws attention, considering the significant reputation of the musicians involved.

Fariz explained that the offer does exist, but the context relates to the organization of the National Song Creator Congress that will take place on March 4, 2026. He felt it necessary to clarify this to avoid misunderstandings in the future, especially among his fellow professionals.

"That the offer of trust was presented to me regarding the organization of a National Song Creator Congress that was recently held on March 4, 2026," added Fariz.

He suspects that there was a miscommunication or misunderstanding that led to his name being announced directly as a Board of Trustees member. Fariz understands if his colleagues in the organization assumed his approval of the congress consensus as a sign of willingness to accept the position. "I understand this situation, the deviation in this reporting may be due to colleagues in the song creator organization, I did agree, including agreeing to the consensus memorandum that was established as a result of the congress I mentioned earlier," he explained.

Nevertheless, Fariz feels that the responsibility as a Board of Trustees is not a light matter. He doubts his ability to carry out this mandate, considering his position as just an ordinary songwriter."I feel that the mandate entrusted to me is a heavy and not easy one. And I am quite doubtful whether I am capable of being a mentor. Whether, in my capacity as an ordinary national music songwriter, I can indeed provide constructive insights to my fellow songwriters in Indonesia," he said.This clarification is expected to clarify the situation and stop any potential controversy that may arise. Fariz emphasizes that he continues to respect the works of others and does not want this issue to drag on.
