Already Prepared a Song for Debut Album, Virdi Admits Wanting to Collaborate with For Revenge and Closehead - Determined to Create on a Large Scale

Kapanlagi.com - The music world of the homeland is once again enlivened by the presence of a new solo musician, KLovers. This young soloist is named Mohamad Firdaus Firdi with the stage name "Virdi".

Before starting a solo career, Virdi was already active in music as part of a band formed in 2016. Now, he continues his journey as a solo singer with the support of the music label Didi Music.

Working with the support of Didi Music label, Virdi admits that he has no limitations in his work. Virdi reveals that he has freedom in music.

"Free, as long as it doesn't disrespect people or the government. Normal, that's what it means when I was on my own (before joining Didi Music) I was afraid to bring up certain things," said Virdi, on Tuesday (8/8/2023).

In the context of music, Didi Music has brought up famous bands like Closehead and For Revenge, Virdi acknowledges his interest in collaborating with them.

He appreciates the songs from both bands, and even admits to listening to Closehead's songs since junior high school. Virdi's desire to collaborate reflects his admiration for these big artists, KLovers.

"Interested in collaboration because I listen to their songs, like Closehead when I was in junior high school, it's an old band. I listen to For Revenge's songs because they're always on TikTok or somewhere. They are also big artists so I just want to," said Virdi, showing his interest in collaborating with famous bands.

Virdi revealed that he has a number of songs ready to be released to the public, KLovers. Interestingly, all of these songs are his own creations. This shows dedication and experimentation in Virdi's song-making process.

Then, when asked about his future plans, Virdi ambitiously aims to release an album or EP, "I already have the material, just need to decide which songs, and all the songs are my own. Yeah, I want to release an album or EP," he said. His ambition reflects Virdi's determination to create on a larger scale.

3. Musical Taste Sets Virdi Apart from Other Solo Singers

Virdi revealed that he believes the difference between himself and other solo singers lies in his unique musical taste. He tries to maintain an element of experimentation in his works by combining various musical influences that he enjoys. 

However, Virdi admits that differences in style and other aspects of music are difficult to objectively measure, "It seems more like a difference in taste. So, I focus more on experimenting with my song-making process, combining the music I like. That's it. As for style and other things, I can't really see it either." 

As someone with a fresh musical perspective and high spirits, Virdi firmly establishes himself as a solo musician to be reckoned with in the Indonesian music industry. With his latest single titled Pesona, Virdi is ready to embark on a new journey in the world of Indonesian music.
