Kapanlagi.com - Kikan Namara appeared as a singer and music director in the art performance 'Pagelaran Sabang Merauke - Premiere With Live Performance' held on June 3-5, 2022 at Djakarta Theater, Central Jakarta.

Playing a dual role in this performance, Kikan Namara initially doubted her own abilities. However, she was grateful to have met a great team that enabled her to perform her duties well.

"It's a mixed feeling for me. This is my first experience of playing two roles at once. Initially, I doubted my ability to handle two roles. Being a performer has its own burden, and being a music director also has a burden. I am grateful to have been introduced to great people," said Kikan Namara when met at Djakarta Theater, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (2/6).

Involved in the Sabang Merauke Performance, Kikan Namara experienced something new. Not only did she learn to love her homeland, but she also delved deeper into Indonesian culture through the regional songs she sang.

"I learned a lot not only about loving this nation with whatever profession we can give to this nation. But more deeply, I felt a new experience in delving into each song and region, each region has its own depth that cannot be valued with money," she said.

'Pagelaran Sabang Merauke - Premiere With Live Performance' presents 21 regional songs and one national song that are harmoniously combined. This performance also involves five Indonesian singers, 46 traditional and modern musicians, and 135 professional dancers. Through this performance, the audience is taken on a journey throughout Indonesia through the melody of each region's songs.

"For me, why this performance is important is simple. When you hear a song from Aceh to Papua and then to your friend's region, there is a feeling of 'oh, this is my regional song.' The amazing thing is that each song has a different feeling, a different atmosphere, but all of it is still in Indonesia. What's important is how we can feel that we are very diverse but still one nation, namely Indonesia," said Kikan Namara.
