Armand Maulana Records the EP Sarwa Renjana Alone, A Full Love Offering for His Daughter and Wife

Kapanlagi.com - Armand Maulana has just released a mini album titled Sarwa Renjana, which is his latest work as a soloist. In this project, he wants to present maximum vocal recordings, choosing to record five of his songs at home, without the help of others.

Although the label Trinity Optima Production offered professional studio facilities, Armand still chose the simple recording atmosphere at home. The father of one explained his reasons for preferring to work on it at home.

“Back when I recorded ‘Andai’ (Gigi's song), that was recorded at home. I wanted to return to that atmosphere, doing everything myself and relaxed,” he said at a press conference in the Melawai area of South Jakarta recently.

1. Recording at Home

According to Armand, recording at home provides a unique comfort. This way, he can express his emotions more freely without any pressure.

“I want to be comfortable, I just want to enjoy recording by myself,” he continued.

The results of Armand's recordings turned out to satisfy the label. His vocals in five songs on this EP blend well with the musical arrangements that support the emotional atmosphere of each song.

Sarwa Renjana is dedicated to his daughter, Naja Dewi Maulana, who has been pursuing higher education in England for the past four years. This work was born from a father's longing who lets his daughter go to seek knowledge.

“Initially, this was the confusion of a father who is far away from his child. Yes, as a father, I can't possibly forbid her,” Armand expressed.

2. Melancholy Becomes a Song

The melancholy finally turned into inspiration to create five songs rich in meaning, such as Don't Let Go, I Am Your Homecoming, So Comfortable, Love List, and Heaven as the main song. Not to forget, So Comfortable is dedicated by Armand to his wife, Dewi Gita.

"There's one song for my wife, not everything is for the kids, hehehe," emphasized Armand.

The song Heaven was specifically created as a reminder to live healthily, to ensure a long life and to always be there for loved ones. The music video, directed by Shadtoto Prasetio, brings a 1990s vibe, complete with the flannel shirt fashion that is making a comeback.

For this project, Armand collaborated with only three people, Ade Avery as producer and songwriter, Kamga as songwriter, and Simhala Avadana from Trinity Optima Production as A&R.
