Avoiding the ITE Law, Slank Is Not Responsible If Their Two New Songs Spread on Social Media

Kapanlagi.com - Slank has made a splash again by releasing two new songs in vinyl format in the album Joged. These songs are not released digitally, and they strongly urge fans not to spread the songs on social media or other digital platforms.

"Basically, there is a call here that the new Slank songs on this vinyl, which we are not distributing digitally, should not be spread through social media or digitally in any form to avoid the ITE Law," said Bimbim at Potlot, South Jakarta, Thursday (26/12/2024).

Bimbim emphasized that if the songs circulate in cyberspace, it is not their doing. This is a precautionary step to avoid any legal issues related to digital violations.

"So if suddenly something circulates and there’s a problem, it means the one spreading it is not us who made it," added Bimbim.

Bimbim explains the reason why this album was chosen to be released in vinyl format. According to him, the new album serves as the perfect starting point to begin a physical release project like vinyl, which they had previously always failed to realize.

"Because this is a new album, we want to start everything fresh. If we want something else, we can go back. But since we really wanted to make vinyl for a long time but kept failing, we hope the new album will release vinyl, so this is it for now. If people like it, we will go back to the old albums," Bimbim explained.

Meanwhile, Kaka mentioned that this vinyl release is also to introduce the advantages of this format to Slank's listeners. Although some consider it late, for Slank, this step remains relevant.

2. A More Personal Experience

"Not really. We think, we need to educate the public first about what vinyl is, what the advantages of a music album record are when listened to through vinyl. We want to educate that first, except for collectors. So we want to inform Slank's listeners that there is a difference," Kaka expressed.

Bimbim also added that vinyl provides a more personal and intimate music listening experience. They deliberately avoid digital platforms because they want to maintain the exclusivity of their work.

"Yes, there are two songs that we intentionally did not release digitally, and it's been a long time since we shared music digitally, it feels noisy and fast," he said.

"With vinyl, we make it so that it shouldn't be spread around, so that only we can listen to it. And the lyrics can be discussed after we listen, just among us, so it’s not noisy like in the digital world," Bimbim concluded.
