Camp Broadway Indonesia Presents 'Letters for Indonesia', Inspired by the Works of Guruh Soekarnoputra

Kapanlagi.com - Welcoming the celebration of National Children's Day, Camp Broadway Indonesia (CBI) presents a special performance titled We Are Children of Indonesia: A Letter to Indonesia. The event held at the Galeri Indonesia Kaya, Central Jakarta serves as a platform for young talents to express their hopes, concerns, and pride as the next generation.

This performance also marks the launch of the official CBI Legacy Stars formation, consisting of nine of the best alumni from the CBI Ensemble program. Under the direction of Adit Marciano, they perform monologues and songs filled with meaning.

Triwatty Marciano, as the Executive Producer of Camp Broadway Indonesia, explained that this event is designed as a moment for children to "speak" to the nation through performing arts.

1. A Letter to Indonesia

"So actually, in celebration of National Children's Day which will be celebrated on July 23. So, these children were actually conveying a letter to Indonesia," said Triwatty Marciano when met after the event at Galeri Indonesia Kaya, Grand Indonesia, Central Jakarta, Saturday (19/7/2025).

According to her, the performers, who are a combination of alumni from Batch 1, 2, and 3, felt the need to write and voice this "letter" at this important moment.

"Because they feel that it is necessary to write a letter to Indonesia at this time. Hopefully, the letter can be heard, yes," she continued.

2. Performing Works by Guruh Soekarnoputra

What makes this performance even more special is the inspiration behind it. All the songs performed are works of the maestro Guruh Soekarnoputra, whose lyrics have long been symbols of nationalism and culture.

"The event or performance today is inspired by his songs, the lyrics, and what you call it, the words of the lyrics from Mas Guruh Soekarnoputra," explained Triwatty.

3. Can Be Conveyed Well

He hopes that the message contained in these works can be conveyed well to the entire community, especially through the sincere performances of these young talents.

"That's why earlier, from the many songs, we were indeed inspired by his song. Hopefully, he will be present tonight to witness these children," he concluded.
