The Story Behind the Song 'Nina' Born from Adnan's Simple Desire .Feast Now Listened to Hundreds of Millions of Times on Spotify

The song Nina by the band .Feast has become one of the works that is very close to its listeners, as evidenced by its play count reaching hundreds of millions on Spotify. However, behind this success lies a personal story born from a simple moment of the guitarist, Adnan. He revealed that the creative process of this song was not overly planned, but flowed like a diary entry.

This work was born from a sincere desire to immortalize an important fragment of his life. According to Adnan, the song Nina is a recording of a personal moment that came at just the right time.

"I am very grateful, for the first time it was made, it was actually just like a diary. From my life timeline, it happened to be that moment when I was writing and was also helped by Baskara, and when it was recorded, it was also with the kids, that’s when Nina came about," said Adnan to Kapanlagi.com in the Kemang area, South Jakarta, not long ago.

The birth of this personal song is also supported by the concept of the album .Feast at that time. The album "Building and Destroying" was indeed intentionally designed as a space for the personnel to express their personal sides. This aligns with Adnan's intention to tell something intimate through music.

"And coincidentally, there was also a gap, a vessel for it, because we were making the album 'Building and Destroying'. So in the album 'Building and Destroying', we really wanted to talk about personal things from the .Feast side," he explained.

In the end, the honesty in creating is the main key to why "Nina" can be widely accepted. Adnan believes that many listeners feel a similar connection because everyone has their own version of "Nina".

"So, it's actually just like pouring out, and it just so happened that there was a perfect moment, so it turns out that many people can relate too, and because surely everyone has their own Nina, right? Their own version. So, alhamdulillah, the impact has reached this far and this big," said Adnan.

Many might think that the idea to create this song had been around for a long time, even before the birth of his daughter. However, Adnan dismissed that assumption and mentioned that the idea came up spontaneously. According to him, the concept was born from a discussion session with other members of .Feast.

During that session, each band member was given the freedom to contribute personal ideas or topics they wanted to raise. It was at that moment that Adnan took the opportunity to propose the idea about his child, with the aim of making that memory eternal in a work. He emphasized that there was no specific intention beforehand to create that song.

"There isn’t any. So it was just that at that time we happened to be having a meeting together. 'So, what do we want to discuss?' like that. And each member was free to bring their own topic, and coincidentally I really wanted to capture Nina, just to make it eternal. That’s it," concluded Adnan.
