Charly van Houten's New Song 'Kangen Sekolah' Well Received by West Java Education Institutions

Kapanlagi.com - Singer and songwriter Charly van Houten has recently collaborated with West Java Governor, Ridwan Kamil, and his wife, Atalia Praratya, also known as Si Cinta.

In this project, Kang Emil, Ridwan Kamil's nickname, stars in the music video for the latest song titled "Besepeda". After completing the video, Ridwan Kamil asked Charly to create a song that uplifts the spirit of West Java.

"It started with the music video project for the song 'Bersepeda', which happened to feature Kang Emil and Mrs. Cinta as the models for the video. The shooting location was in Bandung with friends from Bandung. From there, Kang Emil expressed his desire to Charly to create a song that revolves around the spirit of West Java," said Charly van Houten when contacted on Tuesday (26/1/2021).

At the same time, the vocalist of the music group Setia Band is also working on a new song titled "Kangen Sekolah". A song that tells the story of children who miss studying at school face to face. The song "Kangen Sekolah" is sung by Charly's two children, Mohammad Restu Gibhran and Asmara Nacha, who collaborate with Betrand Peto Putra Onsu.

"Alhamdulillah, it has been responded to very well and even all educational institutions in West Java support the creation of this song "Kangen Sekolah" and it will be distributed to all schools in West Java, especially," he said.

Regarding education itself, Charly is one of the musicians who is concerned about it. For Charly, education is not only teaching and learning activities carried out in formal schools. But, it can also be done in other places.

"Education must be understood holistically. Education is not only formal teaching and learning activities in the classroom. Education also involves how the government provides education to all children of the nation in every aspect of formal, informal, and non-formal life," said Charly.
