Combining Malay and Dangdut Elements, 'Jawara Cinta' by Bian Gindas Goes Viral on TikTok

Kapanlagi.com - Bian Gindas' bravery in exploring her third single titled Jawara Cinta has paid off. The dangdut genre song is now being loved by music lovers, even going viral on the TikTok app with the keyword 'Manis buah kelapa tak semanis gula' which is one of the lyrics in the chorus.

Not only in Indonesia, the single from the band led by Bian (vocals), Ajie Hangesti (bass), and Safir (drums) is also popular in neighboring countries like Malaysia. Bian explained the musical changes they made in their third single.

"The previous 2 singles were not dangdut. The reason is to make it more entertaining. Our Malay concept is not far from dangdut. And the songs also suit the dangdut style," said Bian.

The theme of the song Jawara Cinta is not much different from Bian Gindas' previous songs, which is about love. Bian's typical Malay style is still the main strength in his song. But what is certain is that the additional elements of dangdut make this song sound more colorful.

"In terms of arrangement, it still characterizes Bian Gindas' music. With a Malay concept, the elements of keroncong and the addition of dangdut and sequencer add a special touch to the song Jawara Cinta. It's still very much Bian Gindas," added Bian with a laugh.

Another special thing, there is a pantun element in the chorus of the song Jawara Cinta.

"Bian Gindas always has a special characteristic in each of his songs. Especially in the lyrics. Especially in this song Jawara Cinta, there is a pantun element in the chorus that makes the song sweeter and rhythmic," he concluded.
