Kapanlagi.com - If we have to mention the names of legendary musicians who have passed away before us, the name Debby Nasution will definitely not be forgotten. Long before finally diving into the world of religion, Debby first started playing music with the group The Bumpee's in 1971. A year later, Debby formed the group The Young Gipsies with Odink Nasution.
Her name became more popular when she joined the group God Bless in 1973-1975. Then, in 1975-1976, she played with Gypsy as a bass player, replacing Chrisye. She also briefly joined Eros Djarot in Barong's Band.
Her name shone even brighter when she formed the band Gank Pegangsaan in 1989 with Harry Minggus, Harry Sabar, Fariz RM, and Keenan Nasution. In 2009, she formed the group Debby Nasution & The Morik Band with new personnel. In 2018, Debby Nasution took her last breath while giving a lecture at Masjid Al Ikhlas, Cipete, South Tangerang.
Throughout her life, Debby Nasution always created hit songs, such as 'Cintaku', 'Pelangi', and 'Semusim'. Then there is the song 'Angin Malam' sung by the late Chrisye, as well as the album 'Badai Pasti Berlalu' before Debby decided to migrate and preach.

Although he is no longer with us, we can still listen to his latest unreleased works. Through an album titled Menanti Hari, his friend, Tono Supartono as the executive producer and the late Debby's son, Hasan Nasution as the producer and arranger present the works of the late Debby Nasution.
"The Menanti Hari album contains 10 songs that have never been released by Debby Nasution," said Tono Supratono when contacted via text message, recently.
"So we recorded again and embellished the arrangements by Hasan. Of course, this album still has the distinctive musical characteristics of Debby Nasution," added Tono.

Collaborating with top musicians and conductors in Indonesia, including Andi Rianto, Magenta Orchestra, Tohpati, Indro Hardjodikoro, Pay BIP, and others, Tono Supratono only wants to showcase Debby Nasution's works to the public.
Tono also admitted to contributing a song titled 'Jeritan Hati Kami', which collaborates with Debby Nasution on this album.
"We only want to commemorate the works of the late Debby Nasution. Because the late songs have meaningful messages to convey to the world," explained Tono Supartono.
Through this album, the son, Hasan Nasution, wants to continue to remember his father through a work and that work can be heard by everyone.
"This 'Menanti Hari' album is the last work he kept for so long. All of his beautiful works will always live in our hearts and hopefully the deceased will also be happy there," said Hasan Nasution.
