Kapanlagi.com - The performance of the King of Dangdut Rhoma Irama at the "Extraordinary 31st Indosiar Concert" successfully captured attention. Not only performing hit songs with the Soneta Group, this time Rhoma Irama had to face the challenge of a cross-generational and genre collaboration with the teenage idol group, JKT48.
Rhoma Irama expressed great enthusiasm for this collaboration. He sees it as an opportunity to show that dangdut music can blend with the spirit of today’s youth, especially Gen Z.
"Indeed, this is all thanks to the creative team at Indosiar. I feel challenged to collaborate with anyone, especially with Gen Z," he said when met at the Emtek Studio, Daan Mogot, West Jakarta, Saturday (10/01/2026).
This unusual collaboration certainly requires thorough preparation. Rhoma Irama even stayed overnight at the studio to learn the unique choreography of JKT48 so that their performance on stage could be optimal and cohesive.
"Yes, that is part of the challenge and seriousness to give the best," said Rhoma with a laugh when confirmed about the news of him staying overnight for choreography practice.

The epic performance successfully presented a medley of songs with surprising arrangements, blending dangdut nuances with cheerful pop energy. Rhoma Irama felt satisfied with the hard work he did with JKT48.
"It was an interesting challenge and we worked hard to produce something exceptional. It was very memorable. It feels amazing to duet with them," he added.
This moment proves that Rhoma Irama never stops innovating. At his not-so-young age, he remains enthusiastic about embracing the changes of the times and collaborating with musicians from various backgrounds to advance Indonesian music.
