Feeling Enough in the Music Industry, Maia Estianty is Gifted with a 17-Year Masterpiece Album

Kapanlagi.com - Unconsciously, Maia Estianty has been working in the Indonesian music industry for 17 years as a singer, composer, and songwriter. To celebrate this milestone, the album titled Masterpiece Maia Estianty was released.

This album contains eleven popular songs created by Maia, performed by a series of singers, both those who have been in the industry for a long time and newcomers. From Cakra Khan, Tata Janeeta, Pasto, Indonesian Idol alumna Novia Bachmid, to a cover Youtuber named Feby Putri.

1. Feeling Satisfied

Interestingly, Maia Estianty initially didn't pay much attention to the length of her career journey. Instead, the idea of celebrating 17 years of her work with an album came from Sunny Lie, the producer of Le Moesiek label that oversees Maia's works.

"Actually, I already felt satisfied in the music industry, maybe because I got married. Then Ci Sunny said, 'Your songs are good, why not recycle them with new singers?'. I said, 'Sure, as long as I just sit back and relax, no need to work'," said Maia during a press conference at KFC in Ampera, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (24/11/2020).

2. Not Getting Involved

Maia Estianty's desire to not get involved in the fuss about her album is affirmed by the producer. So she only accepts it and the result turns out to be unexpected.

"I didn't get involved at all, someone else completely produced everything. I was only given a masterpiece of my songs that were worked on by someone else. Usually, I wouldn't want that, I have to get involved. (The result turns out to be) good. Kids nowadays are crazy," said the mother of three.
