Kapanlagi.com - The process of forming the band Dewa 19 is no longer a secret among the Baladewa. However, some unique stories behind the debut of this Surabaya-based band in the Indonesian music industry have not all been revealed by its personnel.
Like the story before Dewa 19 recorded in Jakarta, which was recently revealed by Ari Lasso and Ahmad Dhani on the Indonesian Idol 2020 show. From Dhani's joke, Ari then revealed that he was invited to record while he was on the edge of a ditch.
"We met in a ditch, for real. I was eating noodle dumplings, and then Dhani suddenly said, 'So, after this we record in Jakarta'. 'What song?'. 'Something'," Ari recalled while laughing.

Dhani only answered that there was already a song to be recorded without revealing anything. The meeting location turned out to still be related to Maia Estianty, who was still Dhani's crush at that time.
"At the edge of Maia's school's ditch," said Dhani.
"SMP 1 (Surabaya)," replied Ari Lasso.
Previously, Dhani teased Ari and Maia that they were his students. Jokingly, Dhani stated what would happen to Ari if he wasn't invited to join Dewa 19 band.
"So what would Ari Lasso be if I didn't invite him to play in the band when we were in high school," said Dhani.
"A mountain climber," Ari Lasso answered while laughing.
