Half a Century Old, God Bless Expresses Joy Through New Album 'ANTHOLOGY'

Kapanlagi.com - Celebrating their 50th anniversary, the band God Bless presents their latest album titled 'Anthology'. This album contains 11 songs and one instrumental medley composition from six albums throughout God Bless' 50-year career in the music industry.

"The Anthology album is a series of celebrations for God Bless' 50 years. As musicians, we are grateful that until today we can continue to create and give our best for Indonesia," said Ahmad Albar, the vocalist of God Bless, during a press conference at Bentara Budaya, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (21/6/2023).

Meanwhile, Ian Antono revealed that the album "Anthology" became a moment of retrospection of God Bless' 50-year career in the music world. Through this album, Ian Antono also hopes to revive the creative spirit of musicians.

"Because the most important thing is to keep progressing. The end result is just a bonus for a commitment," said Ian Antono.

All the songs on the album "Anthology" were rearranged and recorded with the accompaniment of the Czech Symphony Orchestra, commanded by Tohpati. Certainly, through Tohpati's skillful hands, the orchestra's touch adds color and strengthens the magical power of the songs on this album.

"There are several titles that have been adjusted in response to orchestration needs. But overall, the role of orchestration arrangements on this album is a refreshing experience for anyone who is familiar with God Bless' songs," said Tohpati.

3. Will Hold Concert Tour

Not only that, God Bless has prepared a series of events to celebrate its 50th anniversary. In the near future, the band consisting of Ahmad Albar (vocal), Ian Antono (guitar), Donny Fatah (bass), Abadi Soesman (keyboard), and Fajar Satritama (drums) will hold a concert tour in several cities starting from September to October.

Adding to the memorable series of half a century, God Bless will also publish a book that tells the journey of the band that was born on May 5, 1973. At the same time, it will be followed by the making of a biopic film about God Bless directed by Hanung Bramantyo.
