Heavy Pop Cherry Bombshell Returns with a New Vocalist, Former Members Become Permanent Additional Members

Puteri Ayesha previously was the vocalist of the band Well Whale, which was under the label Maritime Records. After going through several rehearsals and performances with Cherry Bombshell, she officially became the permanent vocalist. "So Puteri had a band called Well Whale that was released by Maritime Records, then introduced me and recommended Puteri as the vocalist for my Cherry Bombshell because she thought it was a good fit," said Pecunk.

The search for a vocalist itself took quite a long time. The band wanted to ensure that the vocalist they chose truly matched the character of Cherry Bombshell's music. "Yes, it took quite a while, months, maybe half a year. Almost half a year looking for a vocalist because we really didn’t want to rush. We didn’t want to hurry, we didn’t want to audition," she said.

Currently, the permanent formation of Cherry Bombshell consists of Agung Pecunk (bass), Putri Ayesha (vocals), Arief Hendrawan (drums), and Black (guitar). Arief himself has been a member since 2005 after auditioning. Meanwhile, Black, who previously was only an additional guitarist, is now a permanent member.

"Now my permanent formation is Agung Pecunk, and I am also the only remaining original member. The first formation that established Cerebom is just me now. There is Aip or Arief who joined around 2005 through an audition. Arief Hendrawan on drums," said Pecunk.

"Then Black is now also the permanent guitarist of Cherry Bombshell, who has been an additional guitarist for Cherry Bombshell for over a decade and is now its permanent guitarist. I hope Black can also contribute positively, of course. Because I know Black's capacity is not that of an ordinary guitarist. Wow, amazing, plus Puteri, the new vocalist of Cherry Bombshell," he added.

After the new formation was established, Cherry Bombshell quickly moved to prepare two new singles. Puteri Ayesha has already participated in the recording and will provide vocals for the songs "Kecewa" and "Hanya Bualan". "Well, Puteri Ayesha has already joined the recording with Cherry Bombshell. Now her position is as the permanent vocalist of Cherry Bombshell. She has sung, and it has been recorded into two Cherry Bombshell singles that will be released. The songs 'Kecewa' and 'Hanya Bualan' will be released soon. It's Puteri who sings. We'll release it soon, it's really cool," she stated.

Although they have a new vocalist, Cherry Bombshell still maintains their musical style. The songs that will be released still have the characteristic arrangement of Cherry Bombshell, just like before. "There will definitely be something new with the new vocalist. In terms of arrangement, there hasn't been any change; it still has the signature of Cherry Bombshell. Because this song was made before Puteri joined Cherry Bombshell," she explained.

In addition to introducing a new formation, Cherry Bombshell is also collaborating again with Aji, their founder and former guitarist. Aji is now joining as a permanent additional guitarist. "So I often meet Aji. Aji often plays, eats, and has coffee at my café. Then I talked again with some friends from Cherry Bombshell at the café, if I'm not mistaken, I mentioned I was looking for an additional guitarist because Cherry Bombshell needs two guitars when performing," he said. 

"Then Aji offered himself, 'I'll be the additional guitarist, the permanent additional.' He offered himself as a permanent additional. Thank you so much Aji The Milo, we really appreciate the Good Initiative to create together with Cherry Bombshell," he added.

Previously, Cherry Bombshell had two vocalists, namely Putri Ayesha and Santi Devya. However, after much consideration, they ultimately chose Puteri as the permanent vocalist. "At one point, there were two vocalists, Shanti Devya and Puteri Ayesha. At that time it wasn't final, because we were still in the process of finding a vocalist. Then we had a stage, needed a vocalist. We tried going with those two vocalists. In the end, we had to decide who would be the vocalist for Cherry Bombshell," she said.

Although Santi was not chosen as the permanent vocalist, their relationship with Cherry Bombshell remains good. They continue to support each other in their musical endeavors. "With a lot of considerations, conditions, timing, and so on, Puteri became the permanent vocalist of Cherry Bombshell. And we still have a good relationship with Shanti, supporting each other, praying for each other's progress," she concluded.
