The film RANGGA & CINTA, a remake of the film ADA APA DENGAN CINTA? (2002), directed by Riri Riza, and produced by Mira Lesmana, Nicholas Saputra, and Toto Prasetyanto will star new faces, most of whom will be making their big-screen debut.
Since it was announced on the Miles Films social media channel and the film Rangga Cinta two days ago, the cast of iconic characters in the film RANGGA & CINTA has become a hot topic among netizens.
They are El Putra Sarira who will play Rangga, Leya Princy as Cinta, Jasmine Nadya as Alya, Kyandra Sembel as Maura, Katyana Mawira as Milly, Daniella Tumiwa as Karmen, Rafly Altama as Mamet, and Rafi Sudirman as Borne.
The names add to the long list of young talents that have been produced by Miles Films previously and then succeeded in the film and entertainment industry in the homeland.
"It is a special happiness to discover new talents in the films we produce. I hope that through the film Rangga & Cinta, new young talents will emerge who can become professional actors and help advance Indonesian cinema," said Director Riri Riza.
"To find them, our journey was quite long. The audition process took place in several stages over about six months, from April to September last year, with more than 700 teenagers participating in the auditions. The selection process was quite strict, as in addition to assessing their acting abilities, we also had to consider their suitability with the characters they would portray, as well as the compatibility of one character with another to create a cohesive cast ensemble," added Mira Lesmana, one of the writers and producers of this film.
"Their seriousness in preparing for this shooting is not to be taken lightly. They are not only multi-talented but also highly committed. I am very happy to be involved and witness the young actors and crew collaborating to revive the teenage drama that has become an icon of national cinema and is close to the hearts of the people," said Co-Producer Nicholas Saputra expressing his appreciation.
In addition to the cast, partners who have supported the realization of this film production were also introduced, namely Surya Citra Media, Trinity Entertainment Network, Jagartha, Dwidaya Amadeo Gemintang, Barunson E&A, Imajinari, Melyana Tjahyadikarta, Niken Rachmad, and Ignatius Andy. Mira expressed her appreciation for the partners.
"I am very happy that so many parties want to celebrate the rebirth of the story 'Ada Apa Dengan Cinta?' through this film Rangga & Cinta. I am also very grateful for their trust and confidence in the decision to choose new faces as the main cast in this film," said Mira.
Also present as an important part of the production of the film Rangga & Cinta, the well-known songwriter and Music Arranger, Melly Goeslaw and Anto Hoed.
Other creative team members involved were also introduced, including Toto Prasetyanto (Co-Producer), Vera Lestava (Cinematographer), Dita Gambiro (Art Director), Satrio Budiono (Sound Designer), Ichsan Rachmaditta (Sound Recorder), Dara Asvia (Costume Designer), Novie Ariyanti (Makeup Artist), Pasha Prakasa (Choreographer), and Aline Jusria (Editor).
