Indosiar Makes a Big Breakthrough, Launches 'BAND ACADEMY' to Revive the Era of Band Music

Amidst the dominance of solo music and the booming talent search for dangdut, Indosiar makes a significant breakthrough. This television station officially announces their latest program, BAND ACADEMY, a talent search dedicated entirely to finding the best band groups from all over Indonesia.

This bold step is taken for a reason. Indosiar sees a gap and stagnation in the regeneration of the band music industry in the country. After thorough preparation for 3-4 years, they are now ready to reinvigorate the 'world of band battles'. Here are the details.

Harsiwi Achmad, as the Director of EMTEK Media, explained that this idea emerged from a deep observation of the national music scene. According to him, it is time for a big stage that provides space for new band talents to showcase their skills.

"This new talent search was conceived 3-4 years ago.. the reason for this idea is that our observation shows that the regeneration of bands in Indonesia seems to have stopped," he said when met at the SCTV Tower in the Senayan area of Central Jakarta on Thursday (2/4/2026).

Despite the many potentials in various communities, Harsiwi feels that none have managed to rise to the national level. Therefore, with the strength that Indosiar possesses, he is optimistic that BAND ACADEMY can become a catalyst for the revival of the band music industry.

"Therefore, we dare to start this year by launching the Band Academy, so that the band industry can grow again," he continued.

The audition process, which began in December 2025, successfully attracted more than 1,500 registrants. From that number, 30 bands have been selected to compete on the grand stage of Indosiar.

This event will become even more prestigious with the presence of top musicians as judges, such as Anang Hermansyah, Tantri and Chua 'Kotak', Ariyo Wahab, and Pongky Barata. Not to be missed, Badai from Kerispatih is also appointed as Head Coach.

To guide the event, Indosiar is serious by appointing a famous host quartet: Ramzi, Rina Nose, Gilang Dirga, and Jirayut.

The first episode of BAND ACADEMY will be broadcast live on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 7:00 PM WIB, and it is sure to mark the beginning of a new era for the band music industry in Indonesia.
