Invite Mother to Perform, Bams Enlivens the Launch of PP PERBASI's New Emblem

Kapanlagi.com - PP PERBASI's 70th birthday was not only attended by Indonesian sports stakeholders. At the celebration at Senayan Spark Mall, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Tuesday night (14/11), Bams, former vocalist of the band Samsons, was seen attending.

In the event, which was specifically for the launch of PP PERBASI's emblem, Bams sang several songs, including a duet with his mother, Desiree Tarigan. They performed the hit songs Kenangan Terindah and Sabda Semesta.

Bams was also chosen to sing the national anthem, Indonesia Raya, at the opening of the event. The guests who attended the event were mesmerized and immersed in singing the Indonesian national anthem solemnly.

Bams is also known as a celebrity who loves sports, including basketball. Together with other celebrity friends, Bams often uploads his basketball activities.

For PP PERBASI, the 70th anniversary, which falls on October 23rd every year, feels special. This is because the Indonesian basketball federation dares to change. The change begins by presenting a new emblem to show the identity of the organization that is ready to transform into a more professional and dynamic one.

2. New Emblem of PP PERBASI

The new emblem of PP PERBASI is in the form of a shield with an image of a Garuda bird with a basketball on top of it. The shield symbolizes protection. The Garuda bird represents the movement of the agile and dynamic organization. This emblem was introduced at Senayan Spark Mall, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday night (14/12).

"The new logo is more modern and easier to accept. We will propose all of this in the upcoming national congress," said the Chairman of PP PERBASI, Danny Kosasih.

"On the 70th anniversary of PP PERBASI this year, we have been blessed with many blessings from the Almighty God. In 2022, Indonesia was appointed as the host of FIBA Asia 2021 at Istora Senayan. What makes me happy is that we have been designated as co-hosts of the FIBA World Cup 2023 along with the Philippines and Japan," he added.

The launching event of PP PERBASI's new emblem was also attended by Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir, Ministry of PUPR represented by Director General of Cipta Karya Diana Kusumastuti, President Director of Bank Mandiri Darmawan Junaidi, national basketball club owners. Also present were representatives from the Indonesian Olympic Committee and the Central KONI representative. Representatives from sponsors were also present.

"What truly makes us happy is on our 70th anniversary, the government's support in providing happiness to basketball enthusiasts by building a basketball stadium for 15,000 spectators. This support is also responded by sending our best Indonesian players to learn basketball abroad," added Danny.

4. Reflection of the New Emblem

The celebration event of PP PERBASI's anniversary is the culmination of activities on the organization's birthday, which falls on October 23rd every year. Previously, the PP PERBASI management held an event to celebrate its birthday, right on the birth date. At that time, the PP PERBASI birthday celebration was filled with other productive activities.

Located in Cisarua, Bogor, the PP PERBASI management held a board meeting to discuss the annual work program for the next year. Through the plenary meeting, several programs were produced, one of which was organizing a basketball championship in 80 cities/districts throughout Indonesia. The plan is to execute the program next year to promote Indonesia as the host of the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 and FIBA World Cup 2023.

"This new emblem will reflect who we are today and also symbolize a more dynamic future. Of course, this is also part of PP PERBASI's process of becoming better. In order to be taken more seriously by all segments, we have recruited professionals to facilitate our efforts in rebranding PP PERBASI to be fresher," said Commercial, Communication & Fans Director of PP PERBASI, Dina Carol.

5. Welcomed by Erick Thohir

On this occasion, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir welcomes the breakthroughs produced by PP PERBASI. On the other hand, Erick has high hopes for PP PERBASI. The achievements of Indonesian basketball should be elevated to a higher level.

"Our basketball ecosystem is extraordinary. Not many sports have a structured development program. We have DBL for high school students, there is a College League and a Professional League that have been running for years. There is no need to question the country's commitment to national basketball. The country is present, not only in terms of funding but also facilities," said Erick. "This is the right moment at the age of 70, let's reflect on ourselves. This is a very rare opportunity. I certainly hope for maximum individual support," added Erick, who is also a FIBA Central Board Member.
