Joko In Berlin Opens Sweetly at Prambanan Jazz Festival Virtual Festival 2020

Although it was delayed for one hour due to technical difficulties caused by the weather, Joko In Berlin remained the opener of the Prambanan Jazz Virtual Festival on the first day, Saturday, October 31, 2020. The band, led by Mellita Sie (vocalist), Kelana Halim (guitar), Fran Rabit (bass), Popo Fauza (keyboard), and Aditya Subakti (drums), performed six songs, namely 3 AM, Pesawat Kertas, Misanthropy, Senyap, Senja, and Euphoria.

Fourtwnty was the second performer on the first day of the Prambanan Jazz Virtual Festival 2020. Ari Lesmana, the vocalist, also performed six songs titled Realita, Diam-Diam Kubawa Satu, Hitam Putih, Zona Nyaman, Nematomorpha, and Fana Merah Jambu.
Followed by Isyana Sarasvati, who returned to perform at the Prambanan Jazz Festival this year. In this virtual concert, she sang eight songs, namely Lexicon, Sikap Duniawi, Mad, Ragu Semesta, Pendekar Cahaya, Lagu Malam Hari, Untuk Hati yang Terluka, and Unlock The Key.

3. Next Pusakata Performance

Pusakata will be the next performer and will bring eight hit songs, titled Berdua Saja, Kita, Kita Hanya Sebentar, Pejamkan Matamu, Jalan Pulang, Aku, Kau, dan Malam, Untuk Perempuan yang Sedang dalam Pelukan, and Akad.

Tompi, who is the visual director for this Prambanan Jazz Festival, also performed on stage and entertained the audience with seven songs, including Selalu Denganmu and Menghujam Jantungku.

A talented young woman named Dere also enlivened the Prambanan Jazz Virtual Festival 2020 with her latest single titled Kota. This song was written together with Tulus.

4. Tulus Can't Wait for Prambanan Jazz Festival

In his live streaming, Tulus expressed his impatience to return to Prambanan Jazz Festival like last year to meet in person.

5. Limited Audience Presence

Anas revealed that efforts to bring the audience to the venue in limited numbers have been made until the last moment.

He has created a standing concept for the audience in the form of a fenced box that can accommodate a maximum of four people. This concept was adopted from a concert in Newcastle, England. However, it did not receive permission due to the pandemic situation.

“Although it is not a competition, the challenging situation urges us to survive in the future, by adopting a new concept, Prambanan Jazz Festival returns by collaborating with thirteen of the best musicians in the country, to bring back glory in the midst of a pandemic that has changed the situation,” said Anas.

6. Embracing the Spirit of Collaboration

Co-Founder of Prambanan Jazz Festival, Bakkar Wibowo, revealed that this festival embraces the spirit of collaboration rather than competition. He is worried if creativity stagnates, therefore always innovating to find new formulas so that the festival always runs in all situations.
