La Luna Offers a Bitter-Sweet Love Story in a New Trilogy, Hoping to Be Accepted by Gen Z

This trilogy presents a love story full of twists and turns. It begins with infidelity, lingering longing, and karma that turns back on the perpetrator.

The first part of this trilogy tells the story of a couple who are on vacation at their favorite place. However, the atmosphere changes when the woman catches her lover cheating through a phone conversation. Without a second thought, she immediately leaves her partner who has betrayed her trust.

Three months after the breakup, the woman still holds onto her longing for her ex-lover. She revisits their favorite place to reminisce about the past. While falling asleep from exhaustion, she dreams of her ex-lover returning. Surprisingly, her dream comes true. They finally reunite.

However, their story does not end happily. Karma turns when the man becomes the third person in his ex-girlfriend's new relationship. During their separation, the woman has found a replacement. At the end of the story, she leaves with her new lover, leaving behind the ex who once hurt her.

La Luna's desire to return to music began during the Covid-19 pandemic. At that time, they realized that there were still many fans who missed their works. “The initial moment was actually during the pandemic when we communicated via live IG. There was a longing to make music again, but it was still just a plan and hadn’t happened yet,” said Boyan at a press conference at Indo Semar Records, West Jakarta, Wednesday (19/02/2025).

Boyan added that the starting point for La Luna's return occurred in 2023. They were invited to perform at a major festival in Bandung titled "Bandung Heroes." “In 2023, it seems like the first point for us to make music again when we were invited to perform at one of the major festivals in Bandung alongside big bands. The enthusiasm was extraordinary, the audience still appreciated La Luna's songs that had been on hiatus for 8 years,” he explained.

Their spirit grew stronger after re-establishing cooperation with Indo Semar Records, the label that once supported La Luna at the beginning of their career. “Continuing the collaboration with ISR, as the first label that supported La Luna, further solidifies our comeback with new works,” added Boyan.

The return of La Luna is not just about nostalgia. They hope that their latest works can reach both old listeners and the younger generation. “The hope is that the remake of these three songs can be accepted and appreciated not only by old listeners but also expand to new Gen Z listeners. And of course, the name La Luna can shine again in Indonesian music through the best new works,” concluded Boyan.
