New Album Release, Wali Collaborates with Fitri Carlina

Kapanlagi.com - Pop Melayu band, Wali, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. On their 20th anniversary, Wali releases their sixth album. Titled 20.20, this album consists of 12 songs.

According to the vocalist, Faank, this new album serves as proof of their existence and fulfills the longing of Wali fans to hear their idol's best works. Faank expressed this during a press conference at KFC Artha Gading, North Jakarta, recently.

"Yes, this is to answer the longing of ParaWali who have been waiting for Wali's album for a long time. Alhamdulillah, in 2020, a new album from Wali finally happened," said Faank.

Out of the 12 existing songs, there is one new song. Yes, the song titled 'Saksit Tak Berdarah' becomes one of the main songs in this album. Moreover, in that song, Wali collaborates with dangdut singer Fitri Carlina.

"It's special because we duet with Fitri Carlina. Alhamdulillah, we can collaborate with her. Hopefully, this brings a new atmosphere for Wali and hopefully it can also bring something new for the society," said Faank.

In addition, Apoy, choosing Fitri Carlina to collaborate is a well-thought-out decision. Not only known as a singer with a beautiful voice, Apoy considers Fitri Carlina to have a good personality.

"She (Fitri Carlina) is genuine, we noticed that. This doesn't mean that Wali is being selective. And don't ask about her vocal range, we also learned from her. How she delivers the song. In short, we are amazed by Fitri Carlina's personality," added Apoy explaining.

2. Can't Hide the Excitement

Meanwhile, when met at the same place, Fitri Carlina couldn't hide her excitement. Collaborating with Wali is one of her dreams come true. This is also the first time Fitri Carlina collaborates with a band.

"Alhamdulillah, this is a blessing and an honor to be invited to collaborate with a band as big as Wali. This is a dream come true. I dream of collaborating with a big band, an idol. And after a long career and joining Nagaswara, and coincidentally being in the same label as Wali, this is a blessing. If you ask how it feels, there is also nervousness because this is my first experience collaborating with a band and I am a woman myself here," said Fitri Carlina.
