Official Statement from Oliver Sykes, Vocalist of BMTH, Regarding the Cancellation of Day 2 Concert in Jakarta

Kapanlagi.com - The second day concert of Bring Me The Horizon (BMTH), originally scheduled for today, Saturday (11/11) at Beach City International Stadium Ancol, Jakarta, has officially been canceled. This unfortunate news is a result of the incident on the first day, where there was a technical error on stage that forced Oliver Sykes and his band to end their performance before the setlist was completed.

Ravel Entertainment, as the promoter, has also issued an official statement regarding the cancellation of day 2 BMTH concert through their official IG account. They promised to take responsibility and provide full refunds to the ticket buyers of day 2 concert.

Meanwhile, BMTH has finally spoken out about the incident that occurred on Friday (10/11). Read below for more details..

1. Official Clarification from Oliver Sykes

Official clarification from BMTH represented by Oliver Sykes, the frontman, through a short video posted on the IG Story of the official Bring Me The Horizon account. Oli, as he is familiarly called, explained the reason why they suddenly stopped their performance on day 1 of the concert.

"Hi Indonesia, how are you? Oli here. I want to provide some context about what happened last night. When we were performing last night, we had to leave the stage after one song because there were concerns from our crew. The venue, lighting, videotron, everything was shaking very violently and it was very concerning. We were worried that something bad might happen. So we had no choice but to stop the performance," said the 36-year-old man.

2. Day 2 Concert Officially Canceled

The BMTH fans who were present at the venue showed incredible energy. They never stopped singing, jumping, and moshing throughout the concert. It's no wonder that eventually the entire venue seemed to be on the verge of collapsing due to that extraordinary energy.

Now, for the safety of everyone, BMTH reluctantly had to cancel their performance on the second day, tomorrow night, Saturday (11/11).

"Unfortunately, because of the situation, we cannot perform tonight (day 2) either. We have tried suggesting removing the video screens and lights so that we can still perform as is, but it's still not possible," concluded Oli.

3. How Sad Saosin Failed to Perform

The cancellation of BMTH's day 2 concert also affected another metalcore band, Saosin. As known, the American band was scheduled to be one of the guest stars opening the second day. Saosin also expressed their sadness through an IG Story post.

"We are very sad that the BMTH concert is canceled. We were so excited to perform for our beloved fans in Indonesia. Please visit @bringmethehorizon's account and watch their story to find out the reasons why the concert was canceled. Indonesia, we love you!" wrote Saosin's official IG account.

Well, it is what it is. Hopefully, similar incidents will not happen again in the future, no matter who the guest star is.
