Pay Burman Highlights the Importance of Inspirational Figures in Nationalism Through Popular Works

A new collaborative movement called the Patrion Movement was officially launched in Jakarta on Wednesday (11/6/2025), with the spirit of reviving nationalism through creative and cultural approaches. The event was attended by various groups, including senior musician Pay Burman, who expressed his support.

Pay expressed his happiness to witness the initial steps of this movement. He stated that this launch is an important beginning to build something greater for the revival of national values. Here are the details.

"Yes, it's exciting, as an initial step that this program has started, right?" said Pay when met in the Cilandak area, South Jakarta.

One interesting part of this movement is the launch of animations themed around culture and nationalism. "For me, it is very important, we really need inspiring figures. Especially when this inspiration is about national values. So it is very much needed to be an example," he said.

Furthermore, Pay believes that an approach through popular language can be an effective bridge. "Well, how to convey the messages of nationalism to the public in a popular way, with light language so that people can understand. That's it," he explained.

He also shared his involvement in the early process of this movement. "So these are friends who I dialogued with from the beginning, so the basic idea of this concept I participated in discussions and at the start, I felt it was a really cool idea but it needed a lot of support," said Pay.

This musician, who is also known for his critical style, reminds us that movements like this require broad support. "But it really needs a lot of support to become, so how to become a bigger wave. So, but at this initial step, it's already enough for the future," he stated.

Pay also emphasized that his involvement stems from personal unrest over social conditions and the overwhelming flow of information. "Yeah, maybe just consider it personal unrest, personal concern, and with the vastness of information, we need a stronghold," he said.

As a form of support, Pay stated that he will use music as a medium to voice nationalistic values. "Yeah, because I'm a musician, I will speak through music. Actually, I also have programs like this but in music. Well, whatever I can support," he concluded.
