Kapanlagi.com - Can you imagine the explosive atmosphere when Ska-reggae and Koplo genres are combined on the same stage? This phenomenon will soon be realized in the near future, precisely at Gladiator Arena, Bekasi through Pekan Gembira Ria Volume 5.

This bi-monthly family music festival will greet its fans again on August 12 and 13, 2023. The theme for this edition is 'Exciting and Unique Healing'.

"Seeing the overwhelming public enthusiasm at PGR 1 to 4, we chose Ska, Reggae, and Koplo genres as the main offering," explained Welly Wijaya, the promoter from PT Semua Pasti Gembira.

1. Ska and Reggae on the First Day

On the first day, the magnificent PGR stage will showcase a series of Ska-Reggae groups. There are festival regulars, Monkeyboots; Momonon, known for the song Kopi Hitam, and Dhyo Haw who will surely perform one of their flagship songs, Ada Aku di Sini.

Tony Q Rastafara also flew all the way from Australia to greet his fanatic fans and close the grand stage of the first day of PGR. Om Tony, as he is affectionately called, promised to compose a Reggae-themed PGR jingle arrangement specifically for the performance at Gladiator Arena, Bekasi.

"Wait for the date of the show. I have prepared a special surprise for those who come to Bekasi on Saturday night, August 12, 2023. I will perform the special Tony Q version of the Pekan Gembira Ria jingle. It won't be performed on any other stage," he emphasized.

2. Melancholy on the Second Day

The next day, Sunday (13/8), the group Wawes will showcase their new song titled Dumes. What's special is that the song is released in collaboration with the equally famous group, Guyon Waton. In Bekasi, these two groups will perform together, guaranteed to be worth watching.

Wawes will be accompanied by 3 other Koplo groups, namely NDX AKA, who are regulars on the PGR stage, Jogja Hip Hop Foundation, who will perform for the first time on the PGR stage, and will be closed by Guyon Waton, whose excitement in entertaining the audience needs no further explanation. NDX AKA has also agreed to collaborate with JHHF on the second day's stage.

"This is not just a music concert," said Welly Wijaya.

Visitors can enjoy affordable culinary delights, night market amusement rides, city of light lantern parties, as well as many Instagrammable spots that can be framed as beautiful memories. PGR has also partnered with Zebrus for the automotive zone, Nussa for the children's zone, and IndiHome TV for the dangdut karaoke zone.
