Pongki Barata Explores New Genre in Single 'Aku Peluk Kamu',

Kapanlagi.com - Who doesn't know the name Pongki Barata? One of Indonesia's talented senior musicians has been active in the music industry for decades and has successfully produced various hit works that are very memorable.

Pongki is also known as a very creative musician in presenting new innovations in every work he releases. And that was proven again by the birth singer on November 16, 1977, in his latest single entitled Aku Peluk Kamu.

Here, Pongki tries a new genre that is different from usual, namely synth pop. The song Aku Peluk Kamu itself is planned to be included in Pongki's upcoming new album.

"This song is the opening song for the POP album which contains 8 songs," said Pongki in a press release received by KapanLagi.com not long ago.

1. Written Several Years Ago

Until now, Pongki has a characteristic of playing his works with a guitar instrument. However, this time, he tried to make an album that is full of synthesizers, without any guitar instruments at all.

"Taking the nuance of 80's disco pop reflected from the synthesizer sounds used," added the man whose full name is Stefanus Ponki Tri Barata.

As it turns out, the single Aku Peluk Kamu was actually written by Pongki several years ago. However, for one reason or another, the song was only completed this year.

"This song has been around for several years. But it was only completed in early 2022. The demo of this song is stored on my cellphone," he explained.

2. Smooth Recording Process without Obstacles

All production processes for Aku Peluk Kamu were done in 2 different cities, Bali and Solo. Not alone, Pongki also collaborated with Tommy Widodo in producing this single. Pongki didn't experience any difficulties in working on this single. In fact, in just 3 weeks, the song Aku Peluk Kamu was completed.

"The goal is to create something unique and expand the listener base with this synth-pop genre," hopes Pongki.

In his latest single, Pongki collaborated with the label Multimas Production. As a new label, Multimas Production has a vision and mission to present characterful music. Of course, innovative music to create a new trend among music listeners in Indonesia. And Pongki, as a musician who is constantly innovating, is certainly suitable for that vision and mission.

"Of course, because Pongki Barata has fresh song materials that are different from most of the music that is already circulating today," said Chris Charles, Founder of Multimas Production.

3. Different Promo Strategies

Although it is a new label, Multimas Production has its own way of marketing their products. One of them is a promo strategy that is believed to be quite different from others.
 
"In the near future, we are focused on promoting several single songs from Pongki Barata that have already become our timeline. Hopefully, with a different promo approach from most music promos that have existed in Indonesia, our promo can also be entertainment for fans of the single song Aku Peluk Kamu," Chris concluded.
