Posan Tobing Launches Young Singer from Malaysia, Admits Writing Children's Songs is Harder than Love Songs

This initiative was born from his concern over the lack of quality children's songs in the digital era. He feels it is time for a new idol who can be a role model for the younger generation amidst the onslaught of K-Pop music.

"I have this concern about the critical state of children's songs. So it can almost be said that children's songs in Indonesia are almost nonexistent," he said when met in the Cibubur area, Depok, Saturday (18/10/2025).

The answer to his concern came from across the sea. His introduction to Annisa, a 6-year-old child singer, began through social media. After receiving a vocal sample from Annisa's father, Posan admitted he was amazed by the extraordinary talent the child possesses.

"It turns out Annisa is really honest, her tempo is really good, her vocal singing is really great, so I was surprised," praised Posan.

From that admiration, a single titled Anugerah Terindah was born. This song was created specifically for Annisa and tells the story of a child's gratitude to their parents.

However, behind the process, Posan admits that creating children's songs is actually much more challenging than making adult songs. While he usually can create a song in just a few minutes, this single took up to a full month.

"Usually I make songs in 15, 30 minutes, 1 hour (finished). The notation I can make quickly, 15 minutes," he revealed.

According to Posan, his main difficulty lies in the great moral responsibility. He has to ensure that every lyric and meaning in the song conveys a positive message for the children who listen to it.

"His responsibility is very large. How can it be that when Annisa sings, the meaning and significance and the notation can be transferred to other children," he explained.

His seriousness is proven in various ways, starting from flying directly to Malaysia for the recording process to conducting in-depth research for word selection to avoid double meanings in other countries.

"I write the lyrics, I search on Google. Is this correct? Oh yes," he said while laughing.
