Presenting with a Unique Concept in the Midst of a Pandemic, Anons Voices Opposition to Hypocrisy

Amidst the COVID pandemic, a Nu Metal Hip Hop group from Bandung named Anons, does not lose their energy to create. Interestingly, according to their name Anons, which means anonymous or without a name, all four members wear masks and don't want to mention their names.

1. Having Different Characters

The masks they use also have their own characters. Anons' presence in the Indonesian music industry brings a work, a single titled Sosiopat.

"The name is taken from the word Anonymous, which means without a name or identity. You only play music with our genre while conveying a message," said one of the Anons members.

"Why not have an identity? Because their hope is that those who listen to our music do it purely out of love and appreciation without looking at the faces of the members," continued another member.

2. Song 'Sociopath'

In the song Sociopath, Anons brings a resistance against hypocrisy. The song tells about the abundance of hypocritical people who have recently emerged in social environments and have become a source of distress for many people.

"This Sociopath tells about the nature of people who have two faces, innocent-looking but not in reality, they make empty promises but they are all false, they act as the most righteous when in fact they are the opposite, and they always find happiness in the suffering of others. The distress caused by this nature cannot be ignored and must be fought against," explained Anons member.

Formed in 2018, it took a long time for Anons to release their debut single. However, for Anons, there is no such thing as being late to create a work of art.

3. Being Productive During the Pandemic

The ongoing pandemic is not a barrier to continue creating. Engaging in various positive activities can actually help boost the immune system. And most importantly, it is crucial to adhere to health protocols.
