Releasing a Song about Gratitude towards God, Olvah Alhamid Brings a Go International Mission

Kapanlagi.com - Putri Indonesia 2015 finalist, Olvah Alhamid, has been flying to America since 2019 to pursue her dream as a model. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she has now returned to Indonesia for an indefinite period of time.

According to Olvah, there is a silver lining behind the challenges that hit the world throughout the year 2020. Yes, the 30-year-old woman now spends more time with her family, something she rarely did before.

"At the beginning of 2020, I returned to Indonesia, and suddenly there was a lockdown, so I couldn't go back to America. Eventually, I went to my parents in Papua to meet them. I spent almost 5 months with my family. Previously, I had been separated from my parents for almost 16 years. So, I think this is a blessing from God because Allah gave me time with my family. So, don't see something as lacking, everything happens for a reason, so there must be a blessing behind it," Olvah shared during a press release received by the media.

1. Message in the Song 'Thank You 2020'

And from that experience, Olvah created a song titled Thank You 2020. This woman, born in Papua, includes a message for humans to always be grateful for the blessings given by God. Something that people often forget, including herself.

"This song tells us that all the blessings we have received, but often we keep searching for more, until we forget to be grateful. I invite those who listen to this song to sit quietly or take a step back to thank God and the world for everything we have without asking for it," she added.

2. Bringing an International Mission

Through the song Thank You 2020, Olvah hopes to penetrate the international music market. That is also one of the reasons why she wrote the lyrics in English, so that it can be accepted by music lovers from various parts of the world.

"Insha Allah amin go International. I made it in English to possibly reach a larger international scope. My friends in America are all excited, they want to listen to Thank You 2020. Hopefully, my song can reach the whole world, not just Indonesia, but the whole world can enjoy my song. The language is also not difficult and easy to understand," she concluded.
