Seringai Speaks Up Regarding New Guitarist After Ricky Siahaan's Passing

Kapanlagi.com - Seringai has finally made a comeback to the Indonesian music scene after a year-long hiatus. However, the return of this band leaves one big question for the Serigala Militia: who will be the permanent replacement for the late Ricky Siahaan in the guitarist position?

Seringai officially announced their comeback on March 24, 2026, after being inactive following Ricky Siahaan's passing in May 2025. This revival moment was marked by the announcement of their latest album titled IV: Anastasis, which is scheduled to be officially released on various digital music platforms on April 23, 2026.

"So in the album IV: Anastasis, the guitar parts are indeed filled by our old friend, Angga Gusuma, who is the former guitarist of the band Taring. But now he is in the bands Collapse and Billfold. So all the guitar tracks on IV: Anastasis are played by him," said Sammy Bramantyo when met at Menara Kompas, Central Jakarta, Thursday (9/4/2026).

1. Two Formats

Although Angga Kusuma fills all the guitar parts in the new album, Seringai apparently did not only enlist one additional musician.

For stage performance needs, the band led by Arian13, Sammy Bramantyo, and Edy Khemod also invited Darma Respati from the band Negatifa to strengthen the sound composition during live performances.

"So currently there are two formats of Seringai as a trio, and Seringai live which performs as a five-piece," he explained.

2. No Final Decision Yet

Regarding the permanent status of the two guitarists, Sammy Bramantyo emphasized that the band has not made a final decision to officially confirm the new personnel.

For Seringai, the process of filling the void left by the late Ricky is not just a technical matter, but rather a deep emotional compatibility issue.

"So for now, if asked whether our two friends, Darma and Angga, will join Seringai as personnel? The answer is we don’t know yet," Sammy asserted.

3. Let It Flow

The Seringai personnel currently prefer to let everything flow naturally through the introduction process. They still want to see how compatible their vision and feelings are when they eventually have to enter the stage of creating songs together for future works.

"We want to have an introduction process first, to see if our chemistry is right, how we will write songs together, and so on. So for now, we are performing live as five. But for the full album IV: Anastasis, it’s all Angga who fills in," concluded Sammy Bramantyo.

As information, the long wait of eight years for the fans will soon be rewarded with 12 new tracks in the album IV: Anastasis. Previously, Seringai had already released two warm-up songs titled Sejati and Senarai Feses at the end of March.
