Slank Concert in Malang Attracts 30 Thousand Spectators, Healing Longing

Slank last performed in Malang about 9 years ago, precisely in 2017. The Hey Slank X HS concert on Sunday (4/19/2026) successfully became the remedy for the longing of 30 thousand Slankers who filled Rampal Field in Malang City. After greeting and sharing a little story on stage, Slank kicked off with the song titled Like Corruptors. Previously, as an opener, Slank performed I Miss U but I Hate U, Gara-Gara Kamu, and a medley of Mars Slankers and Punk Java which opened the concert.

Slank started their performance precisely at 22:00 WIB. Their appearance was met with cheers from the Slankers who packed the concert venue. The waving of flags with the butterfly symbol typical of Slank accompanied every rhythm of the songs performed with bold energy.

"We met almost 10 years ago in this Rampal Field, in 2017. We came challenged by HS, they said, brave people come to Rampal!" said Kaka Slank from the stage of the concert on Sunday (4/19/2026).

A variety of flags were waved, complete with the names of the hometowns of the Slankers; Tulungagung, Malang, Indramayu, Tuban, Demak, Surabaya, Gresik, Jember, Banyuwangi. Before launching into their various hits, Kaka was seen greeting the Slankers in the characteristic reversed language of Malang. "Assalamualaikum! How's Malang! Red Rose for the Monkeys of Ngalam (read; Arek Malang)!" greeted the vocalist, whose full name is Akhadi Wira Satriaji.

That night, Slank performed in full formation, namely Kaka (vocals), Ridho (guitar), Abdee (guitar), Ivanka (bass), and Bimbim (drums). Slank performed energetically and with rich messages in each of their songs. They invited the Slankers to pray for HS and Mama Iffet.

In the middle of the concert, before launching into the song titled Bimbim Jangan Menangis, Bimbim took a moment to invite the tens of thousands of Slankers present to pray together. From the stage, leaving his drum set, Bimbim carried the microphone. "Last Ramadan, our friend Haji Suryo (owner of HS) had an accident that resulted in his wife Hj. Anis Syarifah passing away," said Bimbim.

"Currently, Haji Suryo is in poor health, let us pray for a speedy recovery. His wife's soul is accepted by the Almighty, may her grave be widened," continued the drummer and founder of Slank.

After inviting the Slankers to pray, the song Bimbim Jangan Menangis was played. The slow-tempo song became particularly emotional for Bimbim. He is the vocalist on that track. "From heaven, Mom always says (Bimbim Jangan Menangis)!" said Bimbim.

Mom is Iffet Veceha Sidharta, who is none other than Bimbim's mother, who passed away in April 2025, or 1 year ago. That night, Slank played other hits, including; Ku Tak Bisa, Terlalu Manis, Tonk Kosong, Orkes Sakit Hati, and the old song from 1998 titled Poppies Lane Memory, which Bimbim mentioned was created during the "dark times" when Slank members were addicted to drugs.

"Tonight, we are showing people that we dare to be different!" concluded Kaka Slank at the end of the concert.
