Special on the Anniversary of the Birthplace City, Powerslaves Will Re-release the Song 'Semarang'

Kapanlagi.com - The pride of Semarang, Central Java's rock and roll band, Powerslaves, will surprise their birthplace city in early May. They have prepared something special for the city.

Powerslaves was formed in Semarang on April 19, 1991. Their first performance took place at the "Rock Merdeka" event at the Faculty of Forestry, Gajah Mada University, Yogyakarta in the same year. That's where the name Powerslaves first became known to many people.

Meanwhile, Semarang will commemorate its 475th anniversary on May 2, 2022. On that occasion, Heydi Ibrahim and his friends will re-release the hit single Semarang, whose original version is included in their fourth album, Powerslaves (2001).

Titled Semarang (Remastered), the song was re-recorded by the current lineup. In addition to Heydi on vocals, there are also Anwar Fatahillah (bass), Wiwiex Soedarno (keyboard), and Agung Yudha (drums). In the original version, there were no Wiwiex and Agung's names.

Semarang is a song about longing for one's birthplace city. There are many memories, hopes, warmth, and love that have grown and even fallen in the corners of this city.
