Vikri Rahmat Releases Song

Kapanlagi.com - After the success of his song "Nasihat Bapak", comedian and singer, Vikri Rahmat is back to shake up the Indonesian music scene with his latest single titled "Pengen Ini Itu." This song was released almost a year after "Nasihat Bapak," showcasing Vikri's consistency in creating works while maintaining uniqueness and honesty in every lyric.

"Actually, the gap is almost over a year. It started like this, we had been running 'Nasihat Bapak' for almost a year, then we reached a level that seemed to be maximized here," said Vikri Rahmat during a visit to the Kapanlagi Youniverse office.

"The listeners were around five thousand something if I'm not mistaken, the last time we checked the music video, in just one night it reached more than twenty thousand. At that point, we felt like we had to continue this," he added.

Vikri revealed that the process of creating this song actually began with "Nasihat Bapak." He usually gathers song ideas first, and then chooses the most suitable ones to be released. "Pengen Ini Itu" is one of those ideas, which was ultimately chosen to be launched as the latest single.

"If 'Pengen Ini Itu' was made not long after 'Nasihat Bapak'. When I make a song, I usually gather ideas first, and then when I want to release it, I choose," he explained.

The song "Pengen Ini Itu" raises themes that are relevant to everyday life, especially in facing what Vikri calls "creep mentality." This term refers to people who are unhappy to see the progress or success of others.

They tend to give criticism without solutions, and often in a not-so-nice way. The lyrics of this song reflect Vikri's discomfort with that phenomenon.

"I said I don't know the current slang, I'm already old, I don't understand today's language. So, oh it turns out this term creep mentality is a term from what I created in my song. Where we live is surrounded by people who don't like to see us happy," Vikri explained.

"They are not happy to see us progress, not happy to see us succeed. We are surrounded by such people, both from internal and external. And unfortunately, the majority of these people only comment, only criticize but offer no solutions," he added.

Interestingly, although it raises a fairly serious theme, the music in this song is wrapped in a humorous atmosphere. Vikri explains that he always prioritizes feelings in creating songs. He chooses to give a voice to those who feel marginalized, but in a light and entertaining way.

"And somehow it also provides criticism even though the way of providing solutions is not good. So indeed, it’s basically just envy and narrow-mindedness," he said.

The lyrics of this song also reflect Vikri's personal experiences and those around him. He describes how often someone who wants to pursue a career in the entertainment world, such as becoming an actor or musician, receives mockery from their surroundings.

However, Vikri emphasizes that the lyrics are not a jab at any particular figure, but rather a reflection of the existing reality. Vikri hopes that the song "Pengen Ini Itu" can be a platform for those who feel marginalized to express their feelings.

With a humorous yet impactful musical style, this song is expected to be well received by its listeners.

"I'm representing your worries, your frustrations, like that. Why is it made like that (the music is humorous)? Because when I make a song, I prioritize the feeling first, you know. The feeling is what I look for first," he concluded.
