Voice of Baceprot Expresses Their Concerns and Bitter Stories Through Their Latest Single 'God Allow Me (Please) to Play Music)'

Kapanlagi.com - Since 2014, the band from Garut, Voice of Baceprot, has emerged and brought a new color to the Indonesian music industry. What's interesting about this band is that its members consist of 3 hijab-wearing girls who are still very young. And don't be mistaken, they play really heavy metal music!

It looks and sounds contrasting indeed, but in reality, the emergence of this band, led by Marsya (guitar & vocals), Widi (bass), and Sitti (drums), has received a very good response from music lovers and musicians in Indonesia, even from abroad. But it's not surprising if there are some 'haters' who tend to criticize Marsya CS's music choice, which is considered not in line with her appearance.

"The more we try to avoid and distance ourselves from criticism, the more cruel it becomes. It also provokes us to fight back openly. This continues until we become so tired," Marsha expressed in a press release received by KapanLagi.com.

And when they were at their lowest point, Marsya CS tried to seek support from close people, such as their former music teacher, Abah Ersa Satia. From that meeting, they poured all their dilemmas and concerns into a work titled 'God Allow Me (Please) to Play Music'.

God Allow Me (Please) to Play Music is the second single from Voice of Baceprot after School of Revolution which was released in 2018. Not playing around, this latest single from VoB also involves a series of top senior musicians, such as Stevi Item (Andra & The Backbone, Deadsquad), Alan Musyfia, Andyan Gorust (Hellcrust), and Gusti Hendy (GIGI) who are trusted as music mentors for Marsya, Widi, and Sitti.

Compared to their first single, the musical maturity of VoB is clearly felt in the song God Allow Me (Please) to Play Music. Yes, Marsya, Widi, and Sitti appear much more mature and skillful throughout the composition of the song, which is fierce, melodic, groovy, yet still easy listening. The beautiful harmony that is created is also thanks to the involvement of Stephen Santoso as the music producer.

"We want people who listen to this song to be more tolerant towards others. God does not belong to only one person or one specific group. God belongs to anyone who believes in Him. So, everyone has the right to create, make, and take responsibility for the creation given by their God," Marsya concluded.
