120 New Students of IMDE Attend the Inaugural Lecture, Rector Ensures Ideas Are Not Just Discourse

Kapanlagi.com - The Institute of Management and Economic Design (IMDE) welcomed 120 students in the campus life introduction agenda for new students (PKKMB) 2025, which also marks the inaugural lecture for IMDE's new students. PKKMB lasts for 3 days, from September 2-4, 2025.

As the Rector of IMDE, Totok Amin Soefijanto stated that students are not just here to attend lectures. They will generate many ideas at IMDE, which will not just remain as discourse but will be realized.

"I want to emphasize that we are here not just to attend classes. Not just to enter campus and go home. But here, all of you will realize your ideas. Here, ideas are manifested in the form of sketches, drawings, thoughts. Eventually, they become like this. That is what we will do at this campus," said Totok as quoted by Liputan6.com, Wednesday (3/9/2025).

1. Upholding Integrity

Totok emphasized that IMDE is a campus that upholds integrity. According to him, there is no tolerance for anyone who commits disgraceful acts on campus.

"So, we must be honest, we must work professionally. There is no such thing as mark-up, there is no such thing as corruption. There is also no such thing as violence, bullying, or harassment. All of that is zero tolerance," Totok asserted.

2. AI Material in the Inaugural Lecture

In this year's inaugural lecture, IMDE presented the CEO of Visual Indomedia Produksi (VIP) EMTEK Group, Indra Yudhistira. He shared insights on the trends in digital content and the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the film and media world.

"It was previously predicted that AI would enter its role phase in 2029. However, with the extraordinary competition developments, it turns out that by 2025, the growth has already started to become insane as we just saw. So, what can AI do in filmmaking?" Indra asked the students.

3. Majors Available at IMDE

At the Institute of Management and Economic Design, there are four faculties: the Faculty of Communication with the Study Program in Film, Television, and Media. Then there is the Faculty of Business Economics with the Digital Business Study Program.

Not only that, IMDE also has a Faculty of Performing Arts with the Performing Arts Study Program. And the Vocational Faculty with the Study Program in Media Communication and Production.
